How Do You Find The Best Security Software? Ah, Listen Carefully To Ollie's Story...

Optimistic Ollie is a friend of mine. Ollie is smart, friendly, and fun. He's a little upset right now though. Why?  

You see, Ollie downloaded a virus. It encrypted a bunch of his important files. Then, he got an email offering to "unlock" them for a very reasonable price.

Oh, and don't panic Optimistic Ollie, they accept all major credit cards.

But Ollie was running a good antivirus program so he couldn't understand how this could happen. He thought that having "security software" installed protected him from the bad stuff on the Internet.

I tried to tell him.

The worst part is that while Ollie's software maker can remove the virus, they can't unlock the files; at least not yet.

So flames erupt from Optimistic Ollie's ears while he tries to figure out what to do. Tsk, tsk. What he should have done is visit best-security-software.com a little sooner. He'd find reviews of top Internet security software for sure but...

He'd have discovered that simply running the best Internet security software isn't good enough. Optimistic Ollie needs...

Ollie didn't realize that the Net is literally crawling with creepies like these:

• Trojans - She's not looking, let the virus out now.
• Hybrids - Part virus, part worm? Frankenstein was child's play.
  
  
• Keyloggers - Send a "friend" all your passwords for free!
• Spam - But I don't need a bigger...
• Hacking - Um, all my personal info is behind door number 8,080
• Spoofing - So you're not my rich uncle?
  
  
• Phishing - What do you mean I never logged in yesterday?
  
• Pharming - I thought my bank's site looked funny.
• Email scams - I wonder how much people in Nigeria make?
• Predators - I look like your neighbor and I want your kids.
  
  
• Hijackers - I now control your computer. Resistance is futile.
• Cookies - How else can I send you ads for a bigger...

Slimy little creatures lurking just out of sight. If he let's his guard down for even one second...

BAM, he's infected with Satan's spawn.

Nope, the best security software alone just won't do it. He definitely needs some  but Ollie also needs to learn how to lock down his computers and network in a way that even the best security software can't do alone.
