Why Do We Need "Security"?

Internet security information? When you think about it, this page shouldn't even be necessary. It should be dead simple to use the Internet without fear of being attacked by criminals.

Why would any one want to intentionally send out nasty programs that trash computers and copy themselves all over the planet? Do they think it's fun? Are they just mean people? What's going on?

And why do we have to spend tons of money on fixing the mess they make? Why can't we simply give the Internet a shot or a pill and be done with it? Is all this "security" really necessary? Google reports thousands of searches on terms like Internet security information every month.

The Internet is not the only place this happens.

In the U.S., our tax system is a mess. Not even IRS agents understand the rules. And an entire industry has sprung up to "do taxes". But why? Wouldn't a flat tax or similar plan be simpler? Of course.

But now that it's big, complicated, and expensive, it most likely will never go away.

Mmmm, let's think about that. Someone creates a big mess and then someone else steps in to take advantage of it but never really makes the problem go away.

For instance, you go to the doctor and complain of some ache or pain. The doctor diagnoses and prescribes a pill. Does it fix anything? Not usually. But it does make drug companies rich :)

Instead, it covers up the symptoms so you "feel better". Then, when you complain the pills are causing dizziness, you get a pill for dizziness. (Hey, they do what they can.)

And so it goes. Little of it gets fixed, just swept under the rug.

The bad stuff that infects your computer, steals your identity, and turns your computer into a paperweight is always going to be there; there's nothing you can do about it except...

...put on some first aid cream, a band aid and take its temperature every day. As soon as it gets over its cold, another nasty virus will be lurking around ready to take its place.

In other words, you need enough Internet security information to allow you to diagnose your problem and prescribe the pill.

The valuable information here will give you the foundation you need to browse to more specific information on other pages of best-security-software.com.

Security Tip Of The Week

Internet Security Tips
In an article from
InfoWorld
on Aug 5th,
2010, Roger A. Grimes
says, "If malware were
biological, the world
would be in the grip of
the worst pandemic in
history. In 2009, more
than 25 million different
unique malware
programs were
identified, more than all
the malware programs
ever created in all
previous years (see the
annual report from
Panda Labs). That's a
pretty incredible statistic. Malicious
programs now outnumber
legitimate ones by many
orders of magnitude." Wow.
